Academic Dean opening at OLSWA

Our Lady Seat of Wisdom College seeks a full-time Academic Dean with teaching responsibilities.  Ph.D. and administrative experience required. It is preferable that the candidate be capable of assuming teaching responsibilities in one of the following areas: Theology, History, Literature, Philosophy or Classical Languages.  The applicant must demonstrate sympathy for and understanding of the Liberal Arts; in a Philosophy position the candidate should have formation in or sympathy with the Aristotelian-Thomistic tradition.  Current rank of Associate Professor or Professor preferred.

Start date May 1, 2018, later start date may be negotiated.  Potential candidates are encouraged to apply immediately.  Position is subject to budgetary approval.

Our Lady Seat of Wisdom College offers higher education in the Catholic tradition of the Liberal Arts, and has recently received authorization from the Province of Ontario to offer a three-year Bachelor of Catholic Studies degree. SWC will be preparing an application for a four-year degree program; the Academic Dean will play a crucial role in the development of this application.  SWC is fully faithful to the Magisterium of the Roman Catholic Church and expects successful candidates to serve this mission; the Board of Directors requires teaching members to be in full accord with the Magisterium of the Church, and to be faithful Catholics.

Salary is commensurate with experience, within the context of SWC’s nature as a non-profit apostolate.

In accordance with Canadian immigration requirements, priority will be given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents of Canada.
